Happy 20th Birthday!

Oh well. Now I’m turning into 20 years old. *ahem* I should act like a mature adult since I’m getting older. =.=”’ Hmmm…not really, I like being childish. Bwahahaha.... We all are still very young. XD.

So last week when I got to know that I had to work for noon shift (2.30pm-12:00am) on my 20th birthday, I was like, “Ewww…having to work on birthday completely sucks”. I approached my team leader, Kak Rozana to change my off day so I need not work on my birthday. But eventually I didn’t change it as supposedly my dear KPC members were going to celebrate b’day for me on the next day, i.e. later tonight.

I was thinking to myself, after all, working on birthday isn’t that big of a deal. Just gotta deal with it. As usual, I rushed to the office at the last minute (okay, I’m just being punctual..:p) and the same old working day just began once I logged in through the call master and pressed the “auto-in” button. Aside from some nice birthday greetings from my colleagues, I didn’t expect anything different from the callers, my colleagues and my boss. It’s your birthday. Oh, so what? And like who cares? You still have to answer calls. There is no excuse to slack your duty. It’s just like you still have to attend class when your birthday happens to fall on a school day.

I kept staying in front of the monitor and answering calls until around 4:45pm. That was when Kak Fizah came and asked me to put on “aux” mode once I ended my call with a caller. Okay, I put “aux 1” for break. Now what? Oh mee gawd, I turned my head and I saw Kak Rozana holding a birthday cake while all my ICC teammates started to sing the birthday song. Yep, seriously I was in utter shock for a second as I didn’t expect this at all. I did spend some time thinking what my friends were gonna do to trick me on the next day but never did I think about what my colleagues would do on my birthday.

Never mind, I like this pleasant surprise more than any actual presents (if any). I was surprised and touched at the same time. Then, after making some wishes, I turned too happy till I went straight to cut the cake before I blew off the candles. LOL...silly me. I can’t blame myself though because I rarely got the chance to cut a birthday cake. I just got excited when I saw the cake which looked super delicious. Yep, I actually felt hungry at that time. Luckily they stopped me before I made the blunder since the correct thing to do after making a wish is to blow off the candles first! Alright, I quickly blew them off and cut the cake full of thick American chocolate. It wasn’t easy to cut because the thick layer of chocolate won’t melt away in this air-cond office.

Kak Rozana was kind enough to take over the job to cut the cake while I got to continue taking in calls. Then suddenly she disappeared herself after cutting a few pieces. Only after she came back I realized that the fragile plastic knife was broken into two parts with one being stuck in the middle of the cake. LMAO! That really made me laugh out loud. We had to use a large pen knife and some spoons to cut the cake instead.

This little office celebration for my birthday (and also for my farewell since I’m leaving the company next week) really made my day. It’s indeed a happy birthday for me. I don’t think I ever shook as many hands in one day. Lol…I am really thankful of what my dear colleagues from ICC and Hi Card department did for me. Thank y’all so much.

PS: I wanna thank all my friends and family members who wished me well via internet and sms. It’s really a nice gesture from you guys. For those who forgot to send me a message, screw you! :p Just joking…I can understand that life can be such a bitch that we may forget important things like my birthday. Lol…I mean we all have tons of things to be busy with. :)
